Susan Middleton Elya:  Author of Say Hola to Spanish and other bilingual picture books.

Susan Hart Lindquist:  Writing instructor, award-winning poet, and author of three children's novels set in northern California, Walking The Rim, Wander, and Summer Soldiers.

Verla Kay:  Best known for her "cryptic rhyme," Verla is the author of nine rhyming picture books.

Pam Muñoz Ryan: Multi-award winning Hispanic children's author and winner of 2002 Pura Belpré Award for Esperanza Rising.

Gary Soto: Award-winning Hispanic children's author and poet who has published both adult and children's poetry collections.

Mem Fox:  Australian children's book author and teacher of how to teach reading and writing, best known for her picture books, Possum Magic, Time for Bed, and Koala Lou:  Interesting site that contains advice for writers.

Lauren Francis: Lauren's site displays several of her beautiful children's books illustrations and fantasy art as well as her graphic designs. Lauren also designs web sites.

Evelyn Gallardo:  Children's Writer & Wildlife Photographer (author of How to Promote Your Children's Book! A Survival Guide for Published Writers).

Ana Grossnickle Hines:  Award-winning author of many children's books.  Her site contains many articles on writing and getting started in publishing.

Robin McKinley:  Fantasy writer and two-time winner of the Newbery (Newbery Medal for The Hero and the Crown and Newbery Honor for The Blue Sword).  Her site contains excepts from her book, Newbery acceptance speeches, interviews, and essays.

Anastasia Suen Author of more than 50 children's books, her web site gives all the information you'll need for a school visit.  She also holds Intensive Picture Book Workshops via e-mail.

Leslie Tryon: Children's author and illustrator whose web site contains interesting pages for teachers and kids -- each month she has a new teacher's page, a new game, holiday theme, and sign language message.

Jane Yolen:  Author of children's books, fantasy, and science fiction, as well as poet, teacher of writing and literature, and reviewer of children's literature.  Jane Yolen has been called the Hans Christian Andersen of America and the Aesop of the twentieth century.  Her books and stories have won the Caldecott Medal, two Nebula Awards, two Christopher Medals, the World Fantasy Award, three Mythopoeic Fantasy Awards, the Golden Kite Award, the Jewish Book Award, and the Association of Jewish Libraries Award.  Her site presents information about her over two hundred books for children, contains essays, poems, answers to frequently asked questions, a brief biography, her travel schedule, and links to resources for teachers and writers.
