I Play Splash

[Can be sung to the music of

"My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean"]

I play SPLASH! when I wash in the bathtub

As I lather my face and my hands.

I play SPLASH! and become a sea monster,

            Scaring people from faraway lands.

I just wiggle my terrible tootsies,

And I jiggle my horrible head.

But I giggle to show them I'm kidding,

So the scared folks will like me instead.

SPLISH! SPLASH! SPLISH! SPLASH!

I love to play in the bath—and SPLASH!

SPLISH! SPLASH! SPLISH! SPLASH!

I always play SPLASH! in the bath.

So I SPLASH! and become a small tugboat

That is tugging a large ship to sea.

SPLASH! again, and I am a fat duckling,

Eating moss that's as green as can be.

One more SPLASH! and I glide through the ocean,

            As a turtle,

            A sea horse—

            A clam!

Better yet, I'm a young eager beaver,

And I'm building my family's dam.

SPLISH! SPLASH! SPLISH! SPLASH!

Just SPLASH! and I turn into this or that!

SPLISH! SPLASH! SPLISH! SPLASH!

I SPLASH! when I wash in the bath.

I play SPLASH! and become an old pirate,

Finding treasures long buried at sea.

SPLASH! again and turn into a mermaid,

Hiding most of the treasures for me!

One more SPLASH! and now I am a penguin,

            Or a walrus,

            A whale,

            Or a seal!

Maybe now I'm a sea otter floating,

While I'm fixing myself a fresh meal.

SPLISH! SPLASH! SPLISH! SPLASH!

Whatever I might want to be, I am!

SPLISH! SPLASH! SPLISH! SPLASH!

I love to play SPLASH! in the bath.

I play SPLASH! and become a small starfish,

And I twinkle about in the sea.

So whenever you make that next star wish,

Don't forget you can wish upon me.

Or perhaps I become a blue fishie . . .

Or a lobster with googlie eyes.

Then I SPLASH!—and I'm back in the bathtub

As a little kid, regular size!
